CMIP6
ASP CMIP6 Working Group
CMIP6 atmosphere-ocean general circulation model simulations represent the best available global representations of likely future oceanic and atmospheric changes, in that they are quality assured, internally consistent, standardised, and reproducible.
In the Antarctic Science Platform (ASP), science projects 1 - 4 all need to use components of CMIP6 datasets, for some or all of the many workstreams that are underway. Given the potentially very large volume of data required to serve the needs of the ASP science projects (10s to 100s TB), a coordinated approach to data access and storage was deemed pragmatic, efficient, and should allow equitable access and usage of these products. The ASP CMIP6 Working Group was established to facilitate this.
Full details of the work undertaken by the Working Group is available in the White Paper. Timeslice data for a range of common parameters have been downloaded from the IPCC Interactive Atlas and for convenience are made available for download (netCDF format) here.
